Grow the fuck up and give that flag back to people who understand the value of true democracy, which is getting over yourself and your differences and working towards a common goal. I've got another flag for the these tea-baggers, and I suggest they take heed of the 9 million voices that out-cried their own during the last election:
It is not a liberal "issue" to want change. It is not liberal to want war to end, to want the hungry fed, and to want nature preserved. It is not liberal to want criminals punished, guns in safe hands, and equal rights granted to all. It is not liberal to want kids educated, workers rights, and the rich taxed. It is not liberal to encourage trade, diplomacy, and peace with foreign countries. It is not liberal to want to abolish ignorance, racism, greed, and hate.
It is American, and beyond that, it is human. It is an ongoing hope that you and the person next to you can live their life to its fullest, in their own way. It is not liberal, it is what this country was founded on. Those of us who understand this finally took the country back, and I will be damned if you whiney conservatives with your ignorant chanting and idiotic banners are going to crawl out from under those rocks you scurried to after the Republican party abandoned you.
It is time to build this country up rather than break it down. Our flag, not yours.
Join, or die.
what a blog-bomb! well said my friend.
ReplyDeleteYes, you still have non-Monstonaut readers. . .the parents. Keep writing.
ReplyDeleteGreat writing! It's not all that often that I read a blog written by somebody with the guts to knock the greedy idiots that have been trying to take over this nation.
ReplyDeleteclearly you haven't been reading my posts about animal poop tv, gawd
ReplyDeleteYes, some Tea Party activists did not like the results of the 2008 election. Not all. I personally know many conservatives who voted for Obama, some also who voted for Alan Grayson of Florida.
ReplyDeleteThe flag was a call for unity over unchecked tyranny not democracy. While some voted for the politicians, poll after poll after poll showed that the people did not approve of the policies those politicians forced upon us. Further, the Constitution does not give them the power to enact such legislation.
Local and state governments have the authority to provide universal health care, most have chosen not to. It is not the function of the federal government to replace the legislation of the states to provide services to the residents of those states.
Your main flaw in your debate is that you believe apparently believe that America is a Democracy. It is not. The founders knew that democracies were doomed to failure. In a democracy if a majority discovers they can merely vote themselves resources, earned by a minority, the entire system crumbles.
America is a Republic based on the rule of law with a constitutional framework. If our politicians ignore that framework, designed by people who resisted a powerful central government, Our country looses its identity and what made it successful.
Our goal should not be the study of how we can take from someone else to give to others. That is not charity. It is theft. Our goal should be to show those in need how they can provide for themselves so that they can teach others. That is how we restore America.
